'Starcraft' is Now Officially Free

It's an uncommon sight to see a video game company just give away one of its most popular games for free,   It's even rarer to see that game being made permanently free, especially one that the company was still selling very recently, but this is exactly what Blizzard has done.


In the patch notes for the official 1.18 update for "Starcraft" and "Starcraft: Brood War", Blizzard states clearly that the classic real-time-strategy game has gone free.  The developer also provided download links for the game on the official "Starcraft" website.
