These entries represent initial drafts that may contain grammatical and spelling errors and whose substance and position could still change, and which, at some point, I could decide to put together into in-depth articles that will be posted on the main Saved Content and Poverty Sucks sites.

King's Bounty: Armored Princess Sale on Direct2Drive Summer 2010

As part of its 6th year anniversary sale, Direct2Drive has King's Bounty: Armored Princess for only $6, down from $35.

It's predecessor, King's Bounty was critically acclaimed and Armored Princess itself was well received.  It has a good degree of replayability and it was reviewed as addictive and I like the fact that your character is a woman, however, it will not work with a GMA 950 graphics chip.

Because it only works with higher end computers and won't run on just any PC, I decided not to buy it, even at the $6 price.

Please note, I have not played King's Bounty: Armored Princess.  I am not reviewing the game.  These criteria are only for me to decide if I should buy the game.  Here is how King's Bounty: Armored Princess fares with my criteria:

Replayability:  8 - Three character classes, difficulty levels, and random monsters and loot.  Geography, environment, locations, and layout are not randomized.

Appeal:  10 - Good replayability, main character is a woman, a strategy game with fantasy elements.

Compatibility:  3 - Can't run on a GMA 950 without pixel shader emulation.  When run with pixel shader emulation, the game stutters and is barely playable.  The game doesn't look good but the graphics don't prevent the game from being played.

Verdict:  Not a good value for me at $6.  I might consider it at $2.
